Fiebing's Neatsfoot Oil softens and preserves leather. A 100% natural preservative for leather articles subjected to rugged use and outdoor exposure. Repels water and protects against the stiffening effect of repeated wetting and drying cycles. Restores dried out leather, making it soft and pliable. Since the primary function of a neatsfoot oil is to replace the evaporated oils in leather, replacing the oils with other natural oils is best. Used by saddle makers for over a century.

I got it to put on a new, custom-made holster. Absorbs quickly. Darkens the leather slightly, giving a rich tone, which is what I want.
I also used it on a WWII USMC K-Bar leather-handle knife and sheath. The sheath was very weathered and brittle, but much softer after using the oil.

I am extremely happy with the shipping, and the product arrives in an awesome shape as well. However, I did tried some very sparing amount of oil on my belt, and the result isn't quite satisfied. However, I made a leather oil, using this Neatsfoot Oil as a raw component and I was happy enough with the result. I used Linseed oil, Olive oil, Cedar oil, Beeswax, and Lanolin to make it a nice, blended liquid oil which waterproofed my boots to an extremely satisfied result. My suggestion to all customers/user would be not to use this oil alone, but instead as a raw material component to a mixture.

These oils will not go rancid if you do it right - add some good amount of cedar wood oils into your leather oil and it will prevent any kind of rancidity which I've heard so far from customers about this products.
