I was very pleased with the product. I have gone through three of these designer shoe horns with a figure at the top of the shaft, but the plastic horn broke on each of them requiring that I buy an entire shoe horn instead of just the bottom part. This purchase was of a strong metal piece, but with a wooden shaft which I was able to cut and sand so it would fit into my designer shoe horn. With a little bit of stain, the color matched and I am happy with the look. The maker of this product should consider offering a metal replacement horn for these other plastic versions which, at least for me, do not hold up to the stresses I put on them.
